Super Food!
I hope you all enjoyed the Super Bowl over the weekend. I took some much needed “sweatpants” time to relax during the game. Thankfully, I wasn’t sick like I was last year though!
Anyway, I know that it’s around that time that the urge for Nachos, dips, cocktail weiners and desserts galore. But if you remember that I’m going for that whole no processed carbs and semi-Primal thing this month, I had to improvise. No Nachos. No cocktail weiners (sad face). No desserts (I wasn’t in the mood to bake anything anyway).
So here’s a look at what we went with for our Super Bowl Part-ay:

Celery Sticks and Hummus (Omigoodness, I was devouring these!!), Shrimp and cocktail sauce (I don’t use much of the sauce anyway) and some apples for that sweet tooth!
This was a WHOLE LOT of deliciousness going on before the game and packed with a lot of protein and low calories. Plus, no breads or over-processed carbs! Yay!
So just when you think you can’t hold back because of “this” or because of “that” – you can. Just find the alternative that works for you. I happened to have been craving celery that day, LOVE hummus and also enjoy shrimp; but maybe you don’t.
So mix it up for yourself and find what you like that won’t add on the extra pounds! Summer will be here before we know it. Uffda!
With that, here is a Weigh-In update!!
I’m down about a pound-a-half in the first week (7-8 days) in February. That is right on-par with the healthy weight loss per week of 1-2 pounds. If I keep up the good work, I should hit my goal to lose 6 pounds this month!
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, remember there are alternatives! You’ve just got to find them and make sure that they work for you. You should enjoy what you’re eating afterall, right?
Good luck!
Penny
