Book Review: Bridal Bargains

Since I’m trying to read at least one book each month, I’ve decided I should share a few more details on the books that I read.

I tend to jump around with what I’m reading; from non-fiction, to fiction and fun to fact. Though, I don’t want to bore you with an old school book report; I thought I’d keep it simple and introduce the Homeless Pennies’ version of a Book Review. Fast, easy and just enough information to inform you and help you decide if you want to check it out or not.

Here goes!

Book Name: Bridal Bargains: Secrets to throwing a fantastic wedding on a realistic budget
Book Author: Denise Fields
Time to Complete: The entire month (a couple chapters a few nights each week).
Recommended (Yes/No): Yes (if you’re planning a wedding!)

What did you like best about the book? They provide SPECIFIC resources for you to use and check out (i.e. websites, names) and also compare them in charts based on their category (entertainment, dress, catering, etc).

What did you like the least about the book? It was very long and very skinny. It made it awkward to read it and I’d usually have to stop because I’d get a cramp in my arm from the way you have to hold it. Sounds silly, but it was my least favorite part!

Did you learn something you didn’t know before? A lot. There is never too much information you can learn about saving money and keeping your price realistic for a wedding. This book provided a lot of information on some smaller details that I hadn’t thought of yet!

Does this book inspire you to create change in your life in a positive or negative way? It’s inspired me to check out the additional steps, suggestions and information they’ve provided that I haven’t checked out yet. Glad to see that the steps I’ve been taking so far to keep my budget realistic have been the right ones; there are just a few that I could have easily missed without reading this book.
